stories told and songs sung

I grew up in Texas and then went off to college in Tennessee. There I met my future wife in a great story you'll have to hear someday. Med school was back in Texas. We got married during my 2nd year. After med school, it was on to Neurology residency in the Deep South. Now that I'm a full fledged neurologist, I'm just trying to balance it all with a new baby on the way...

Lipitor Patch

A patient came in requesting a refill of her Lipitor patches. She was told that Lipitor does not come in a patch form. The patient insisted that it does because she is definitely taking it. In fact, it was working to lower her cholesterol, and she had the lab results to prove it.

"Well, do you have a box of the patches with you so I can look at it?"
"Even better, I have one of the patches on right now."

She lifted her shirt sleeve to reveal a Lipitor Post-it Note stuck on her arm.

"Well, I'm glad your cholesterol went down, but it's not from the patch. In fact, that's not really a patch at all..."

I think that is the strongest argument thus far on why pharmaceutical reps had to stop giving out stuff like that.
